Healing with Magnetic Therapy… Could Magnets Help You?

Healing with magnetic therapy is something that has been going on for 2000 years or more. Magnetic therapy entails using the powerful field emitted by magnets to heal from various health conditions. You may be wondering what magnetic therapy is and how it works. If so, you have come to the right place! We are publishing a series of articles on healing with magnetic therapy, the studies that show how it helps, and how magnetic vaginal dilators can heal pain and dysfunction.

This article will address what magnetic therapy is, what it helps with and the different types of magnetic therapy.

What does healing with magnetic therapy consist of?

The idea of magnetic therapy came about because iron makes up around 4% of our blood content, and all of the ions in our cells generate an electrical impulse. The result is that the human body has its very own electrical field. Ions such as calcium and potassium assist the cells in sending crucial signals; scientists have studied how magnets can change the action of these ions for better health. The theory is that the magnets bring the cells back into balance.

Magnetic therapy consists of placing different types of magnets on various areas of the body for overall health benefits. When the negative side of a magnet is positioned on an area that is giving us pain, fresh, oxygenated blood is drawn to the area, improving circulation and kick starting the healing process. Furthermore, magnets are alkaline, which means that they are able to neutralize bodily acidity. Acidity can be one of the main causes of poor health and pain.

What are the benefits of magnetic therapy healing?

Healing with magnetic therapy can work wonders for a lot of people. There is a lot of anecdotal evidence out there (and a few studies too) supporting positive results, such as:

  • Pain relief (from various conditions and causes)
  • Healing soft tissues
  • Aiding restful sleep (due to positive influence on melatonin production)
  • Increased endorphins (the body’s natural painkillers)
  • Improved mobility
  • Reduced stiffness

Healing with magnetic therapy is common for conditions including (but certainly not limited to):

  • Arthritis
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Wounds
  • Insomnia

The different types of magnetic therapy

Magnetic therapy is often referred to as magnetic field therapy. Below are the three different types:

Static magnetic field therapy

This magnetic therapy entails placing a magnet against an area of your skin. You might do this with a bracelet or other magnetic jewelry, for example. Some people will tape or bandage a magnet to their skin, or even place it inside a shoe or bra. Women with vaginal conditions like vaginismus, dyspareunia and vaginal stenosis can place magnetic vaginal dilators inside the vagina.

Electrically charged magnetic therapy/electromagnetic therapy

These magnets are electrically charged, and generally the therapy works through an electric pulse. Pulsed electromagnetic field therapy (also called low field magnetic stimulation) uses electromagnetic fields to treat tumors, non-union fractures, glioblastomas and even depression.

Magnetic therapy with acupuncture

With acupuncture, tiny needles are strategically placed in the skin along the meridians (energy lines or channels) of the body. Magnets can also be placed in the same positions on the skin for healing benefits.

To summarize, magnets positively impact the ions in cells of the body, bringing fresh blood and oxygen to areas of pain and disease. This is why we include Neodymium magnets in our Vuva vaginal dilators… but we’ll be bringing you more information on that shortly.
